NEBULAREVERB

Long-tailed stereo reverb, from small rooms to vast spaces

Nebula Reverb is a stereo reverb that reaches from small metallic rooms to tails a minute long. It adds swells, echoes of reverb, a freeze and a duck that can follow Nebula Kick.

Highlights

What sets it apart

Bloom shapes the start of the tail

Negative Bloom makes the tail swell in after the note, like a reverse reverb. Positive Bloom pushes a burst of early reflections forward.

Echoes of reverb

A Regen loop runs around the output with its own echo line, diffuser, drive and leveller. At 100 % it becomes an endless cloud that the leveller holds in check.

Ducks on the kick with no detector lag

Duck Source can be the input, any track through the sidechain, or Kick Link. Kick Link ducks for exactly as long as Nebula Kick's kick sounds.

Nebula Link

Works with the rest of the range

Reads Nebula Link v1 as a listener. With Duck Source set to Kick Link it ducks on each beat for as long as Nebula Kick's published kick sounds (Kick must have "Publish this kick's handoff" ticked). Inside Nebula DAW the song's real Kick hits drive the duck instead.

Claude

Claude can help

Press CLAUDE on the panel once and it hands the "Nebula Reverb" connector to the Claude app. Claude can then find any open reverb by track name, read and set every control in the panel's units, load and save presets, clear the tail, measure the reverb's level and tail, and undo its own changes. Nothing listens on the network; it uses a private local socket. Inside Nebula DAW, Claude works with it through the DAW's own tools.

Measured

What the tests show

  • auval -strict and pluginval at strictness 10 pass (scripts/validate.sh)
  • 95 plug-in checks and 85 core checks
  • Mix 0 is bit-exact, stereo and mono, through the core and the plug-in
  • Output is bit-identical at 64, 137, 1001 and 1024-sample blocks
  • Measured T60 is within 15 % at 44.1, 48 and 96 kHz
  • Nothing allocates in processBlock

Questions

Nebula Reverb FAQ

Is there a VST3 version?

Not yet. The build makes an Audio Unit only. VST3 is planned after the sound is signed off.

Can it make an endless tail?

Yes. Freeze holds the tail exactly, and Regen at 100 % piles everything played into one endless cloud. The host is told the tail is endless.

How does it duck under my kick?

Set Duck Source to Kick Link and tick "Publish this kick's handoff" in Nebula Kick. It assumes a kick on every beat. In Nebula DAW it follows the song's actual Kick hits.

Does it work in Nebula DAW?

Yes. It runs there as a native node, with its own panel, A/B, Mix Lock and undo.

What does it need?

macOS 11 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. It loads as AU or VST3 in Logic, Ableton Live, Bitwig, Cubase, FL Studio, Reaper and Nebula DAW.
